Victoria Foster Harrison is an artist and creator of Curly Girl Art Studio LLC in Port Townsend, Washington.
Encaustic printmaking, collage, and multi-layered media form the heart of her practice, though she approaches them all with the same playful curiosity and an eagerness for discovery.
Her work isn’t just about materials; it’s a reflection of a creative spirit that balances both precision and spontaneity.
Her printmaking process is an exploration of what happens when heat meets pigment, when spontaneity merges with control.
Collage also plays a major role in Foster Harrison’s artistic expression, and she embraces the intersection of her own textured photography, gestural mark-making, and sometimes even asemic writing.
Foster Harrison also showcases encaustiflex, a flexible, resilient material she prints, cuts, and reshapes with pigmented beeswax—resulting in the creation of dynamic, three-dimensional wall sculptures.
Layers of woven or stitched elements add movement and depth, while organic components provide grounding and texture.
Inspired by nature’s rhythms, these new works embody a harmonious convergence of structure and fluidity.
