Another day, Another world!
I had such a magical time wandering through the old world over Europe way. Even with the occasional McDonalds and souvenir stands on every other corner, it was an amazing glance at the past. Brick roads and plazas, statues everywhere — living in idwest United States your mind cannot fathom what it’s like to have ancient art everywhere you go.
For today’s blog, let’s try some pediments, cornices, tympanums, and whatever other words mean decorative pieces above doorways and arches….

You know, I was always taking photographs on my to or from a so-called bigger thing (like the Louvre or Vatican City) that I didn’t spend the time mor respect for every piece of art I passed. Not that anyone could. But could you imagine having ancient pediments above the doors around your neighborhood? Amazing perspective…

I love the decorative pieces above doorways and arches in Europe. When in Europe, you always need to look up. If not, you miss a lot! Great collection of photos.
