Robert Dane is a glassmaker from Berkshire, England.

Dane started blowing glass at Massachusetts College of Art in 1973, and has exhibited his sculpture and glassware widely in galleries around the country.

Dane manipulates glass into functional and sculptural forms with a variety of techniques, including blowing and hot-working solid glass.

Vibrant colors and the spontaneous improvisation of these unique designs distinguish his work in the centuries-old tradition of glassblowing.

Inspired and informed by the beauty of nature, he recognizes his dependence on it and tries to nurture an optimism within himself and his work in exchange.
“We are often too absorbed by the day to day of our own small existence to visualize and recognize the grand scheme that is transpiring around us,” Dane shares.
“My aim is to celebrate the beauty of the progression of life as it ever unfolds and reveals itself.”
