I do love that old fashioned word. Curmudgeon. A crabby person — especially an older one.
I think Ebeneezer Scrooge was one. Those two hecklers in the balcony on the old Muppet Show were a couple more. Just kinda cranky and out of sorts.
I call my husband that from time to time.
But I digress.
I am planning on spending my morning reading through other people’s blogs — something I’m behind on.
I myself am suffering from RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) that is a potentially dangerous, highly contagious virus that can cause respiratory disease.
Ack, petuwy, Another name for a chest cold.
I’m not belligerent nor dismissive — I know what I have. And that makes me a curmudgeon.
Don’t feel like writing, reading, watching TV. Didn’t feel like doing yesterday’s dishes either, but necessity dictates.
It lasts for over a week — wheezy, coughy, rumbly. All traits that can apply to a curmudgeon.
Who is a real pain to be around.
So I wish you a marvelous December 27th and hope that all of your coughs are small ones!
Hope you feel better soon.

Oh, boo, Claudia. I’m sorry you’re not feeling well. I’m tired of all the junk going around. I keep catching the virus du jour. Hope you shake this and avoid anything else this winter is tossing around.
I love the word curmudgeon, too. I put two of my pub friends into my last book and my present book as curmudgeons like the Muppets, Statler and Waldorf. For my birthday, those two guys bought me an action figure set just like in your picture above. I have it on my computer as a muse for when I write. LOL!
Take care of yourself, dear. Have a Happy New Year!

I love love love this story! I’m trying to think if I’ve written a curmudgeon into any of my stories — if I haven’t I should!

So sorry about your illness. I managed to avoid that one this year but my daughter’s family caught RSV. I wish you a return to good health soon.

Thank you so much. I got my shots for Covid and Flu .. I didn’t even know about a vaccine for RSV. But I do now. Let’s hope I pay better attention in the future!

What a good word Claudia, but I hope you are feeling betterer soon … being a permanent ‘Curmudgeon’ is not pleasant apparition
